We advised Oxford University on its long-term partnership with Legal & General Group plc (‘L&G’) to fund and develop homes for University staff and students, together with science and innovation districts in and around Oxford.
The partnership is expected to deliver a programme of up to £4 billion of investment over ten years, initially providing 1,000 subsidised homes for University and college staff, and a further 1,000 units of affordable graduate accommodation. Funding will be provided by L&G’s shareholder, annuity and LGIM-managed funds.
We were engaged to perform an independent commercial and financial review of the University’s business case for the proposed joint venture, as well as the terms of the joint venture agreement.
