On 14 January 2026, Evolution Infrastructure Director, Ramon Sequeira, and Associate, Craig Jenkinson, led an intensive, hands-on financial modelling training session for students at the UCL Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, hosted at UCL East Marshgate.
The workshop formed part of the MSc Infrastructure Investment and Finance programme and focused on how financial models are used in practice to evaluate the commercial viability and profitability of infrastructure projects. Using a real-world case study, students were guided through the core building blocks of infrastructure financial models, including project cash flows, returns analysis, and investment decision-making frameworks commonly used by investors and developers.
Designed to mirror industry standards, the training gave students direct exposure to the tools and methodologies used by financial advisors, asset managers, investors, and public sector bodies across the infrastructure and energy sectors.
The interactive format encouraged questions, discussion, and practical problem-solving, helping students translate academic concepts into applied financial modelling skills. The day concluded with an informal drinks reception, providing valuable networking opportunities between Evolution Infrastructure professionals and the next generation of infrastructure finance specialists.
The workshop was organised and attended by Dr. Roberto Cardinale, Programme Director of the MSc Infrastructure Investment and Finance, with the support of Ms. Tahira Khawaja, School Administrator.
Commenting on the workshop, Ramon Sequeira, Director at Evolution Infrastructure, said:
“It’s always a pleasure to run our annual financial modelling workshop for the Infrastructure Investment and Finance MSc course. Continuing our partnership with UCL allows us to engage with a new cohort of talented students and share practical insights into how financial modelling is applied in the infrastructure sector.”
