Evolution Infrastructure is pleased to have provided M&A support to Equitix on its full-stake acquisition of UK anaerobic digestion firm Bio Capital.

Bio Capital manages a diverse and expanding portfolio of anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities across the UK. The company invests in both operational sites and greenfield projects, encompassing gas-to-grid and electricity generation, low-carbon vehicle fuels, and sustainable biofertilisers & composting solutions.

Bio Capital processes approximately 500,000 tonnes of food waste annually. Through its green energy generation, the company helps prevent up to 360,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year and has an accredited capacity to produce over 900 GWhth of biogas.

We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship on UK & European energy & infrastructure projects with Equitix, a leading global investor, developer, and long-term fund manager of core infrastructure assets.

Daniel Tyerman, Managing Partner at Evolution Infrastructure team commented:

We are delighted to have supported Equitix on its additional investment into Bio Capital, further strengthening its waste management portfolio across the UK & Europe, as well as enhancing our sector experience.”
